Family Fun at Henne Field

Kids and adults just can’t get enough of Summerfest. And what’s not to like? There will be lots to do from 10am-2pm at Henne Field, including:

  • Inflatables and other games with Saline Parks and Rec
  • Planting with kids by Saline Environmental Commission (see below)
  • Pickleball Demonstration by Wolverine Pickleball
  • Dunk Tank benefiting Saline Area Schools FFA
  • Dinosaur Petting Zoo, University of Michigan Museum of Natural History
  • Activities and raffle by Eastern Michigan Athletic Marketing Department
  • Craft activity with Jellybean Preschool
  • Karate demonstration by PKSA – Saline
  • Chad Tough 5K information and sign-up
  • Lots of information from other local clubs and organizations

Environmental Commission Planting with Kids

10-2 Saturday The Saline Environmental Commission is hosting Planting with Kids in Henne Field. Kids of all ages can learn about recycling and the environment while planting their own flower to take home.

Tricycle Races on N. Ann Arbor Street – Postponed until 2022


FREE Tricycle races for all ages…and all sizes.

Children can race against other children their own age or families can race against each other…parents versus their children. No one is too young or too old! (We will help push the young racers) Lots of prizes can be won!

Youth Fishing Contest at Mill Pond Park – Postponed until 2022

Millpond Park- participants choose the area on shore from which they wish to fish. (Sorry – no boats allowed)

Rules and Information

The rods and reels and gift cards given as prizes in the Youth Fishing Contest have been generously donated by Cabela’s of Dundee.

Contest is for kids 14 and under with three age group:

6 years and younger

7 to 10 years

11 to 14 years

There is no entry fee. Prizes awarded for MOST fish and BIGGEST fish in each age group at the end of the contest.

Sign-up begins at 7:30 am, Fishing begins at 8 am. The contest lasts until 10 am.

Entrants must fish the entire duration of the contest to be eligible for a prize.

Worms will be furnished by Latter-Day Saints. Entrants must bring their own fishing poles (limit of two) and hooks. Entrants must land their own fish, parents may help with casting only, and all fish caught must be released after counting and measuring.
