Historical Trolley Tours

Tours narrated by the Saline Historical Society on August 8

Take a break and enjoy a short narrated History in Motion trolley ride around town with a stop at the Saline Depot Museum. The kids will enjoy the museum and then it's back on the trolley for the return downtown to more Summerfest fun.

The free Trolley tour starts downtown at Michigan and S. Ann Arbor, travels east on Michigan passing historic buildings, churches, the Davenport house and 5- Points Corner. It turns north on Maple, west on Clark going past the former Black settlement and church in Saline. Right on Bennett to the Depot, where it stops so passengers can visit the Depot Museum and then re-board when the trolley makes its next run (every half hour). It leaves the Depot Museum going West on Bennett, past Saline industries including the Edward W. Ford Lumber Yard, Parsons Planing Mill, and The Saline Handle Factory (which made baseball bats). Then south on Lewis and west on Russell past many old homes, to Mills street and the old Mills Home; then on to the Cemetery and east on Michigan past two wagon factories, The Saline Exchange (a tavern) and returns to downtown.
